Our Business
Paddlestone Pte Ltd is an integrated media company specializing in corporate branding and reputation marketing. Our business activities involve the function of building corporate reputation and brand awareness for our clients through some of our unique and proprietary advertising media. We developed products such as indoor billboard poster and trade literature to serve these purposes. Our company main products include the “Industry Specific” Indoor Poster series, The Corporate Poster Map, The Corporate Who’s Who, Technology Digest Magazine and the Internet Web Portal www.techposter.com .
Initially we started off producing “prestige poster” for ISO certified companies in Singapore. We also published a quarterly Electronics and Semiconductor trade magazine entitled Technology Digest. We provide these advertising platforms for our clients to bridge the gap in their quest for wide spread popularity. Our media helps to bolster their corporate reputation which will lead to more business and profits for them. Today our core business is in the publishing of various trade and industry indoor poster calendars. We called such poster the “Industry Specific” indoor billboards.
Another of our main product is the Technology Digest trade magazine for the Electronics and Semiconductor industry. Technology Digest is basically a business magazine targeting key executives, professionals and business leaders to let them keep pace with the recent market development and to help them make major buying decision. The magazine is published quarterly and distributed at electronics and semiconductor trade shows. Other than Technology Digest, our core business also involves the publishing of trade show news daily and consumer magazine The Moving Planner.
Besides the print media, we also owned, published and operate a B to B web portal techposter.com to consolidate our products, business services and customers information. This portal provides the industries and its markets with timely press releases, product news, as well as e-commerce opportunities, branding solutions and other relevant services. Our web portal will also provide users the opportunity to access industry information; perform corporate and product research; transact business and post and obtain job information.
One major component on our web portal is a comprehensive collection of various companies’ profile. These corporate profiles are further classified by region and industry. Corporate profiles are useful as it saves executive the time to understand a company better. It is easier to read a corporate profile than to navigate a complete company website. Furthermore company can easily customize and update their profile frequently.
To attract constant traffic to our web portal we advertised our web address prominently on all our indoor billboard posters as well as in other publications. From the large worldwide specialized circulation of our posters, we are able to make our web address well known to the general market and industry. We also work with our partners and strategic alliances to aggressively promote our website to certain segment of the market.
Another of our key publication is the “Industry Specific” indoor billboard poster series. This indoor billboard poster is a publication developed by our founders in 1994. Since then, it has grown from strength to strength to become a leading form of advertising medium for corporate branding and reputation marketing. Our form of indoor billboard concept is unique and we remain the market leader in this form of advertising.
These indoor billboards are “large circulation” wall posters covering specific industries such as the automotive, oil & gas, logistics, biotech, aerospace, infocomm, electronics and semiconductor industries etc. The poster is published yearly and it consists of current trade and corporate information regarding a certain industry and a particular market. The indoor billboard poster also contains logo identity advertisement from sponsors which funds collected are used for the production and distribution of these posters worldwide.
The indoor billboard poster consists of information for a certain industry and specific region. Companies can pay us to advertise and showcase their logos or brands on this poster. As it is often used as a wall calendar by the industry personnel, these posters had a life span of at least one year. These posters are mostly given free to specific industry people during relevant trade show. They are also often presented as annual corporate gift to customers and their prospects by the sponsors and advertisers.
Our web version of the posters is the Digital posters as well as the E-Posters. The digital posters are the replica of our actual poster displayed on the internet. Our clients listed on our actual printed poster will have their corporate logos in our digital posters hyperlinked to their respective websites. The e-poster is a marketing solution platform for companies who want to take advantage of our unique poster concept and its large targeted circulations.
An extension to our indoor billboard poster is the Corporate Poster Map. This is another of our proprietary creation and one of our core printed publication. The Corporate Poster Map is quite similar to a typical tourist map except it is targeted to business travelers, trade show visitors and business users. Basically it is a folded version of our indoor billboard poster but with more in-depth information about the industry, targeted market and corporate information.

To build strong trust and a long lasting supplier’s connection, we find ways to understand our supplier. When our supplier is at fault we do not reproach them. We point out their mistake; state our perception and work to educate them to improve the system, so as to benefit us mutually.
The notion is when we work with a particular supplier; we are prepared for a long lasting respectful relationship. Often there is no point in hunting for new supplier and facing the unexpected. Searching for supplier is equally energy sapping and as costly as finding new customer. Every company seeks a stable and sustainable supply line. Stable relations with customer, supplier and competitor mean good business.

Corporate History
In 1994, our corporate founders started the concept of the “Industry Specific” Indoor Billboard. This unique idea and its platform were developed to offer corporate branding and reputation marketing for companies in the technology sector. Its goal is to create positive corporate and product brand awareness. A publishing and graphic design company was formed in Singapore on January 25, 1995 to operate this mission.
Our earliest publications includes The Moving Planner; a consumer publication for car drivers, Technology Digest; a business magazine for the electronics and semiconductor markets, Excellence Singapore; a indoor poster for ISO certified companies in Singapore as well as Silicon Island; an industry poster for the Singapore semiconductor market. We also operate a graphic design production house to cater of brochure, flyer, catalog, newsletter, poster and desktop calendar design for industrial companies.
Over the next few years, other major publications were added. They are Automation Island in 1997, Silicon Taiwan in 1998, Silicon World and Silicon Japan in 1999, Silicon Europe and Silicon China in 2000, and Silicon Origin (USA) in 2004. During this time RCA Communications also publishes The Silicon Corporate Poster Map, and the rights to produce the Semicon Singapore and Semicon Taiwan show dailies, as well as Metal Asia trade show daily news.
Other notable achievement includes the production of desk calendars for national lottery company, Singapore Pools in 1996. The production of 400,000 calendars worth nearly $700,000 was the largest of such contract in Singapore at that time. We handle the production from conceptualization to sourcing of printers, management of print and its logistics requirements. The production was completed within two months and the whole contract was successfully fulfilled in slightly over three months.
Our founders with its marketing and editorial team also assist and advice SEMI; a global non-profit semiconductor association to launch its inaugural magazine titled “Semiconductor Magazine” which was later re-named “Semiconductor Manufacturing” and also acts as its pioneering marketing agent for this publication in Asia (excluding Japan and Korea). We also assist SEMI to publish some of the show dailies at the Semicon Taiwan and Semicon Singapore trade exhibitions.
In the early years, RCA Communications headquartered in Singapore also operated three branch offices in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei and Hong Kong, and two sales offices in the USA and Hsinchu, Taiwan. With the growing trend in global outsourcing, the present mode of operation incorporates the appointment of international sales and media representatives. We also constantly outsource the design, production and printing to other companies worldwide.
Since inception our business has weathered through numerous pitfalls and economic cycles such as the Asian financial crisis in 1997, the Dotcom meltdown in the early 2000 and the SARS outbreak in 2003. Many of our clients were financially affected and we had to take calculated measures to endure these periods. There were budgets cut back from some clients which somewhat affected our sales. Other major events that had indirectly impact our business include the World Trade Center and Bali bombing, as well as other adverse regional events. With experiences built up during these crises, we are well prepared for future adversities.
